Salisbury firefighters were called to a residential fire around 10:30 Sunday night. Crews arriving at the scene on Naylor Mill Road found smoke and fire showing from the single story home.

The fire was discovered by the occupant and Fire Marshal investigators say the fire began on the exterior of the home. Firefighters battled fire, wind and snow and brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

The State Fire Marshal says the cause was accidental – the result of a failure of an electrical branch circuit near the distribution panel.

Two occupants have been displaced. Damage is estimated at $50,000.
