UPDATED: Sussex County Council Approves Appointment to Library Advisory Board

UPDATED – 09/29/26 – The Sussex County Council met Tuesday afternoon for a meeting that lasted less than an hour.

County Administrator Todd Lawson announced an appointment to the Library Advisory Board for District 5. Councilman John Rieley nominated Christopher Pollinger for that seat. He was approved, effective immediately, and will serve through September 30, 2029.

The County’s Director of Utility Planning & Design Review, John Ashman came before Council for permission to prepare and post notices for a public hearing, tentatively scheduled for October 27 during a regular Council meeting for the expansion for the Briarstone Annexation into the Sussex County Unified Sewer District in the Greenwood area. The request was approved with a unanimous vote.

There were five public hearings on three Conditional Use applications and two Change of Zone applications. All five applications were approved with unanimous votes.

Sussex County Council does not meet next Tuesday – the next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 13 in the County Administration Building on The Circle in Georgetown.

County Administrator Todd Lawson will discuss a library advisory board appointment and Director of Utility Planning and Design Review, John Ashman will discuss a posting a notice for public hearing for the Briarstone Sewer Annexation in the Greenwood area.
