Sussex County Man Pleads Guilty to Transportation of a Minor for Criminal Sexual Activity
A Sussex County man has pleaded guilty to transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika accepted the plea. According to court records, 22-year-old Miles Clark is accused of transporting a 12-year-old girl from her Pennsylvania home to his residence in Delaware for illegal sexual contact. Investigators say the two met on Snapchat a week prior, where Clark engaged in sexually explicit conversations and sent inappropriate videos despite knowing the victim’s age. Clark pleaded guilty to transportation of a minor and faces a maximum of life imprisonment with a mandatory-minimum sentence of 10 years in prison. Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine the sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors. Sentencing is scheduled for August 27th, 2026.
