Talbot County Man Arrested for Physically Abusing his One-Month-Old Infant

A Talbot County man has been arrested for physically abusing his one-month-old infant. According to the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Geovanni J. Greaves of Wittman, Maryland, faces multiple charges that include First Degree Child Abuse, Second Degree Child Abuse, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment. On March 18th, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff鈥檚 Office, Criminal Investigations Division initiated an investigation into the case. Investigators learned that the child was taken to their pediatrician鈥檚 office on March 18th with suspicious injuries. Doctors from University of Maryland, Shore Medical Center at Easton and Johns Hopkins Hospital determined the injuries were suspected non-accidental trauma. Investigators learned Greaves, who is employed as an emergency medical technician with the Talbot County government, is the biological father of the infant. Investigators conducted dozens of interviews, reviewed electronic data and developed a timeline ultimately identifying Greaves as the person responsible for the child鈥檚 injuries. Greaves is being held without bond at the Talbot County Detention Center. Greaves will have a bond review on March 25th before a Judge in Talbot County District Court.
