Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 04/05/26

Saturday was opening day for trout fishing in New Castle County.

Patty at Captain Bones wrote up a bunch of Rainbow Trout Delaware Citations.

The biggest belongs to Landon Martin for his 5.99 rainbow trout caught on a Mouse Tail out of White Clay Creek. Ryleigh Murphy had the next largest with a 3.16 pounder caught on a Powerbait from Mill Creek. The next was a 2.66-pounder caught by Julia Puch also on a Powerbait, but from Rittenhouse Park. Finally, we have Michael Grabowski with his 2.51-pound rainbow trout taken on a Powerbait also from Rittenhouse Park.

All of those citations were made by young anglers below the age of 16. Today, the same streams will be open to all licensed fishermen beginning one half-hour before sunrise. I have a feeling some will celebrate Easter on the water.
