Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 04/30/25

According to Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the run of big striped bass at the North Jetty continued on Tuesday morning. Swim shads were the prime bait this time. On Monday it was plugs and I saw a man hook and lose a big striper on a bucktail with a silver head and white hair. He was fishing the rips under the bridge.

I believe the bite is very early. While I was there on Monday, I watched several ospreys catching, what I think were menhaden, at the mouth of the Inlet. I would think this is the bait that is drawing in the stripers.

Rick鈥檚 Bait and Tackle said they have seen a few tog caught on sand fleas at Massey鈥檚 Landing. Flounder are caught here and there in Indian River Bay on minnows. A young boy brought in a 20-inch flounder he caught at the Inlet.

Fisherman鈥檚 Wharf will hold their Blessing of the Fleet on May 18 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.
