Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/03/25

In spite of less than favorable weather, Friday saw our first offshore report of the season.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em reported that a private boat returned from the deep with a catch of blueline and golden tilefish.

Lewes Harbour Marina said they checked in a black drum that was caught from a private boat out of Delaware Bay on Friday. No word on bait, but I suspect it was either clam or peeler crab. On Thursday, after I called, they checked in a 52-pound black drum caught from a private boat out of Delaware Bay.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle saw the photo of a 37-inch striper caught and released on bunker at 3Rs Road on Friday. There was another bluefish blitz at the Inlet on Friday morning and big stripers were caught from the North Jetty on Friday morning with SP Minnows or swimshads the top baits.
