Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/17/25
Thursday saw some unsettled weather in the afternoon, but most of the day was fishable.
Black sea bass season opened on May 15 and from the reports I received the boats that fished for them on opening day and on Thursday did very well. Boat limits were he norm with the occasional citation like Daniel Jones 3.1-pound beauty checked in at Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m. The first bluefin of the season was checked into Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m. It weighed 36 pounds.
Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported big striped bass caught from the South Jetty early on Thursday morning on SP Minnows and swimshads. The North Jetty only produced a few stripers. Once the stripers quit the blues started in hitting spoons and bucktails.
Cody Reeves and Nathan Seeley caught 20 flounder out of the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal with eight keepers.
