Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 05/17/26

Saturday was sunny and warm, but it was also windy. This caused our old friend small craft advisory to fly again.

When I spoke with Old Inlet Bait and Tackle, they said the Cast for a Cure Surf Fishing Tournament was quite successful. The action started off slow, but before it was over 10 striped bass over 36 inches had been caught, scored and released. The first kings of the year were also caught along with some bluefish. I hope to have the names of the winning teams in Sunday’s report.

Lewes Harbour Marina gave me the exact number of anglers who were registered in Friday’s Canal Flounder Tournament. Five hundred ninety-six. On Saturday a few boats caught black drum at the Coral Beds and the Chasin’ Tail had 80 sea bass over ocean structure.
