Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 06/20/25

Thursday was hot and windy with small craft advisories up in the ocean.

Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic told us that Port Mahon was seeing trout, flounder and sheepshead on peeler crab, minnows, squid and fiddler crabs. The tidal creeks and rivers hold white perch and small stripers with bloodworms and peeler crab the best baits for them. Finally, the jetty at Bowers Beach is a good location for croaker and a few sheepshead with peeler, shrimp and minnows the top baits.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said fishing was slow on Thursday. Just a few blues on metal during the incoming water and a couple of stripers at night on drifted sand fleas and eels. Hook 鈥榚m and Cook 鈥榚m agreed with the slow fishing report. None of their head or charter boats made the run to open water.
