Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 07/11/25

Thursday saw some nice fish caught by young anglers.

Patty at Captain Bones told us that eleven-year-old Easton Pruitt caught a 10.01-pound snakehead on a spinnerbait and six-year-old Hunter DiLeo caught a 5.71-pound catfish both out of the Appoquinimick River.

Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic said the slot striper action continues at the Augustine Wall with the best action at night one hour before until one hour after high tide. Peeler crab is the prime bait. The reef sites out in the bay are covered up with croaker. Some are undersize, but many are in the 9 to 11-inch size. Squid strips and bloodworms have been the top baits for the croakers.

Rick鈥檚 Bait and Tackle on Long Neck recorded three citations for the Lowery family who went deep-dropping and caught blueline and golden tilefish.
