Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 07/18/25

Thursday saw a bit more wind and waves than the boats that fish the ocean can tolerate.

Lewes Harbour Marina said no boats left their docks on Thursday.

Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic reported that the hot bite at the Augustine Wall continued with he and four friends catching their five fish limit of slot stripers there on Wednesday night. They used peeler crab bait and fished one hour before and one hour after high tide. He said they also released several stripers that were over the slot limit. Out in the bay the reef sites 2, 3 and 4 are covered up with croaker plus trout and flounder. Most folks who fish there have no trouble catching all the croaker they want plus their one trout and a couple of flounder.
