Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 08/01/25
Thursday was the last good weather day until sometime next week as the winds are going northeast and seas are building to 7 feet in the ocean.
There seems to be a good number of 20 to 24-inch slot stripers in Delaware Bay. Patty at Captain Bones said some have been caught along the shoreline from Augustine Beach down to the fishing pier at Woodland Beach on bloodworms, peeler crab and shiners. Croaker and spot are more common in this area. Bloodworms, Fishbites and squid strips for the croaker and spot.
Steve at Smith Bait in Leipsic tells me there are still good numbers of slot stripers caught at the Augustine Wall at night on either side of high tide on peeler crab. The Upper Bay reef sites are loaded with croaker, but many are too small to keep.
