Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 08/01/26

Friday saw decent weather and lots of fish were caught.

Dan at Dan’s Tackle reported that Broadkill Beach had good fishing for spot and croaker with bloodworms and Fishbites doing most of the damage. The Broadkill River gave up croaker, a few spot and some flounder. The flounder were caught on live minnows or on jigs or bucktails with Gulp! or strips of squid trailers.

Lewes Harbour Marina said the Old Grounds and Reef Site 11 turned on as the Katydid returned with 35 flounder. Other boats had sea bass, flounder, triggerfish and dolphin. I suspect the dolphin were caught near the marker buoys.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us the Inlet saw blues running by the bridge in the morning and taking bucktails or metal lures. Tog and sheepshead were caught on sand fleas or green crabs.
