Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 08/03/25

Saturday was a little better than Friday, but there were still small craft advisories up on the ocean and at the mouth of Delaware Bay. The same northeast winds have made the surf unfishable.

No boats left the Lewes Harbour Marina or Hook ‘em or Cook ‘em docks.

The folks who fished the Indian River Inlet early in the morning while the current was still running in should have encountered some small bluefish on white bucktails. The ones who stuck it out during the day and drifted sand fleas or crab would have caught sheepshead and tog. The night shift would have found the occasional striped bass on drifted sand fleas or eels.

Randy Norman and a friend from the Lewes Tog Club fished the Outer Wall and Haystacks on July 30 for one 21-inch sheepshead, one 26-inch black drum and two croakers.
