Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 08/05/25

Monday saw the wind stay northeast and the White Marlin Open extend their tournament by two days. Instead of ending on Friday, the contest will run through Sunday, August 9. This extension did not encourage more boats to enter as the total number is now 282, a far cry from the over 400 we usually see. The total purse is still an impressive 7.2 million dollars.

Lewes Harbour Marina said the Pirate King fished ocean structure for 25 sea bass and one flounder.

My son Ric and I drove down to Indian River Inlet on Monday morning just to see what was going on. We watched a few anglers working the north side by the bridge for about an hour and saw one tiny sea bass caught during a hard running outgoing current.
