Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 09/26/25

Thursday saw some rough weather on the ocean and according to Lewes Harbour Marina and Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em no boats ventured out.

Patty at Captain Bones in Odessa said the snakeheads are really coming alive in the headwaters of several tidal creeks and rivers. Two of the best are the Appoquinimick and the spillway below Noxontown Pond. Noisy lures such as chatterbaits and frogs or large minnows work best on the invasive species.

Speaking of invasive species, Taylored Tackle in Seaford tells us blue catfish are available in the Nanticoke River on cut bunker or a special catfish bait that comes in several flavors including liver and blood.

Hook ‘em and cook ‘em said they saw one angler bring in six sheepshead he caught out of Indian River Inlet.
