Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 10-1-23

The sun returned on Sunday, but it didn’t do anything to settle the seas down. Small craft advisories flew all day and they will be up all day on Monday.

To the best of my knowledge, no boats went out of Lewes or Indian River.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park reported more folks on the pier in the sunshine and they caught more fish. The usual spot and croaker on bloodworms and Fishbites along with a few flounder on minnows. A few sheepshead were caught on sand fleas and clams while small black drum were taken on clams.

At Old Inlet Bait and Tackle the report was at least some beaches, including 3Rs, are open. The reports from anglers fishing there on Sunday were skates, rays and smooth dog sharks. Indian River Inlet did produce a few keeper tog out of the many shorts that were caught on sand fleas, both live and frozen.
