Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 10/23/23

Monday saw small craft advisories up in the morning and that was enough to keep the boats off the ocean and bay. Tuesday and Wednesday look good right now and we should have more reports tomorrow. Sea bass fishing has been good and that hopefully will continue.

Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park reported another slow day. First, there were very few people on the pier and second, they only caught a couple of small flounder on minnows and one or two dog sharks on whatever was put in the water.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle had some good news. In addition to the tog and sheepshead caught out of the rocks at the inlet on sand fleas and green crabs, a few big stripers were caught at night on live eels. One angler had a 30 incher and that falls in the 28 to 31-inch slot, while another had a 40-inch striper that was released.
