Wednesday was beautiful and from all reports fishing was good in the ocean and bay.

Lewes Harbour Marina reported that the Katydid had a mixed bag of sea bass, porgies and bluefish. Private boats fishing on bay structure brought back tog and sheepshead caught on sand fleas and green crabs.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said the good bite of tog and sheepshead at Indian River Inlet continued on Wednesday. The usual sand fleas and green crabs did the job of bringing these fish out of the rocks. They also said there are some very small bluefish in the surf. If you catch one, put it on a large circle hook and send it back out. Who knows, you might just catch a cobia, a big red drum or striped bass.

At Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em they said the Judy V ran an all-day trip and returned with sea bass, 1 flounder and a 23-inch trout. Private boats had sea bass.
