Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 5-11-23

Thursday was almost summer-like, but not a lot of folks went fishing.

Patty at Captain Bones in Odessa said big rockfish were caught on bunker and bloodworms from boats fishing at the Bull Pen. Most of these fish have been outside the new 28 to 31-inch slot limit. White perch and small rockfish are in all the tidal creeks and rivers and along the shoreline from Augustine Beach down to the Fishing Pier at Woodland Beach. Bloodworms are the best bait for both.

Taylored Tackle in Seaford told us that white perch and small rockfish are available in the Nanticoke River and Broad Creek on bloodworms.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em let us know that Shawn Hastings caught two flounder out of Indian River Bay on minnows. The largest weighed 2.5 pounds and the smaller was a 2.4 pounder. A private boat fished ocean structure and brought in 16 tog.

Old Inlet said tog and shad were caught from Indian River Inlet.
