Thursday saw a lot of wind and not a lot of fishing. Both Lewes Harbour Marina and Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said no boats sailed from their marinas.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us a few tog were caught on sand fleas out of the rocks at the inlet. Snapper blues came through the inlet in the morning and were caught on small metal lures. Those who drift sand fleas at night have a decent chance of hooking up a large rockfish that will have to be released. There are a few 28 to 31-inch stripers around and drifting sand fleas at night is the best way to find them. The surf fishing is improving. Recent catches have included kings, spot and croaker on bloodworms and Fishbites.

Rick’s Bait and Tackle told us Dante Williams caught a 5.6-pound flounder at the Old Grounds. William Bryant had a 7.4-pounder at Site 10on a minnow.
