Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 8-30-23

With small craft advisories up until Friday afternoon for seas to 7 feet I don’t think to many boats will be going out on the ocean or bay.

On Wednesday afternoon I went to the south side of Indian River Inlet because my sister Debbie and her friend Clair are visiting and I figured that would be the easiest place to get them to the beach. The current was running out and the damage from the last high tide was evident as several large holes had washed out alongside the sidewalk. The park had placed barriers at the holes to keep people away. With at least two or more high tides to go, the damage will only get worse. I did not visit the northside.

While my sister and her friend watched birds and dipped their toes in the ocean, I watched the few fishermen. It appeared to me that most were bait fishing in the rocks for sheepshead or tog. I would say we were there for over an hour and I never saw a single fish caught on the north or south side.
