Talk of Delmarva Fishing Report 9-16-23

bill-o

Saturday saw small craft advisories up once again and they will remain through Saturday night. They may come down on Sunday, but the seas might not drop out until afternoon. When I was young and foolish those five and six footers were nothing, now that I am old and just a bit more brittle, I choose to stay ashore until the waves drop down and the wind goes to light and variable.

To the best of my knowledge, no boats left from Lewes or Indian River Inlet on Saturday.

At Breakwater Tackle on the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park the report was small to medium black drum caught on bloodworms, clams, Fishbites and shrimp. The usual spot and croaker were also caught on bloodworms and Fishbites.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle reported sheepshead caught on sand fleas from the rocks at Indian River Inlet. No mention of any bluefish caught during incoming water on Saturday. Surf fishing remains poor.
