Thursday was another warm day, but fishing remained good. The main complaint I heard was the flies that continue to feast on anglers from the beach to the canyons. Take as much DEET as you can because as long as the wind is out of the west, the flies will be a problem.

Lewes Harbour Marina said the Katydid had a boat limit of flounder from ocean structure. The Bottom Line fished floating ocean structure and caught dolphin.

Captain Brin from Fisherman’s Wharf has been catching sea bass, but on Wednesday they found where the flounder were hiding. They put some really nice flat fish in the box along with a few big sea bass.

Old Inlet said two keeper rockfish were caught from the inlet on Thursday. It is possible both were taken on bucktails. Small pompano were caught out of the surf on sand fleas.

Hook ‘em and Cook ‘em said Captain Chris on the Captain Bob had a 7.4-pound flounder. The Captain Ike had sea bass.
