Three Arrested in Multi-Agency Effort Following Stolen Vehicle Incident

Ocean City Police attempted several times to stop a speeding vehicle – first on Baltimore Avenue just after 1 Saturday morning. A second traffic stop was attempted at 31st and Coastal, but the vehicle continued north up Coastal Highway in a reckless manner – police did not pursue. At the Route 90 bridge stop sticks were deployed and in spite of several punctured tires – the vehicle continued across the Route 90 bridge where Worcester County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle finally stopped on Worcester Highway where the three occupants ran into a wooded area. With help from Maryland State Police and local agencies, the driver, 19 year old Edward Reedy of Dover was found hiding on a property. Police determined he was the driver.
K-9 units found 19 year old Qristian Gavin Durant of Dover was found hiding beneath a rear deck.
Police learned the vehicle had been stolen from a residence in Dover during the night of May 29th.
Around 6:30am Sheriff’s deputies located the third suspect – a 17 year old from Dover Delaware, in the area where the vehicle had initially stopped.
The following individuals were arrested in connection with this incident:
Juvenile, 17, Dover, Delaware
- Theft: $1,500 to under $25,000
- Outstanding warrant from Kemper County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi, for Aggravated Assault with a
Deadly Weapon related to an April 27, 2026, shooting incident
The juvenile was transported to the Lower Eastern Shore Children’s Center pending extradition proceedings.
Qristian Gavin Durant, 19, Dover, Delaware
- Theft: $1,500 to under $25,000
- Obstructing and Hindering
Durant was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held on a $20,000 bond.
Edward Ray Reedy Jr., 19, Dover, Delaware
- Theft: $1,500 to under $25,000
- Obstructing and Hindering
- Multiple Traffic-Related Charges
Reedy was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and was held without bond.
The Ocean City Police Department commends the coordinated efforts of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland State Police Berlin Barrack, Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Berlin Police Department, Dover Police Department, Kemper County Sheriff’s Office, and OCPD officers and K-9 teams whose cooperation contributed to the safe apprehension of all three suspects.
