Three Schools Earn Delaware Purple Star Recognition
Three Delaware schools have earned the聽Purple Star School designation, recognizing them for their commitment to supporting the unique educational and social-emotional needs of military-connected children. The 2026 recipients are Caesar Rodney School District鈥檚 J. Ralph McIlvaine Early Childhood Center, Lake Forest School District鈥檚 Lake Forest High School, and Providence Creek Academy charter school.聽The schools were honored this afternoon when Governor Matt Meyer also signed a proclamation recognizing April as the Month of the Military Child. The Month of the Military Child is a national recognition of the sacrifice military-connected children make so their families can serve our country.聽On average, military-connected students attend six to nine different school systems from kindergarten to 12th grade. Delaware Purple Star schools play an important role in supporting students during transitions and difficult times.
