UPDATED: Thursday Crash on Old Furnace Road Leave Rehoboth Man Dead

UPDATED – 6:30am – A 73 year old Rehoboth Beach man is dead after a head-on crash Thursday afternoon west of Georgetown.  Delaware State Police continue to investigate, but say the man was driving a mini-van registered as a taxi was eastbound on Old Furnace Road with two passengers.  For an unknown reason, the mini van crossed the center line just east of Rementer Road and collided with a box truck driven by a Bridgeville man.  The two passengers in the mini-van – 21 and 20 year old men from Georgetown were taken to nearby hospitals.  The driver of the box truck was transferred to Christiana Hospital in serious condition.  Police say everyone was properly restrained.

Several people were injured in a vehicle crash Thursday afternoon just before 4pm. Emergency personnel were called to Old Furnace Road and Rementer Road west of Georgetown for a crash with entrapment. Crews from Georgetown, Blades and Seaford were on the scene along with Sussex County Paramedics.  Delaware State Police have released little information but tell WGMD the roadway was reopened by 7:15pm. WGMD will have more information as it becomes available.
