Trial #2 in Vaughn Prison Riot Underway in Wilmington

The trial for the second group of inmates involved in the Vaughn prison riot in February of 2017 got underway this morning in Wilmington.  A total of 18 jurors were chosen last week.  Abednego Baynes, Kevin Berry, John Bramble and Obadiah Miller are each charged with 3 counts of 1^st degree murder as well as multiple other offenses – including assault, riot and kidnapping.  During the prison riot, three correctional officers were kidnapped and a 4^th, Lt. Steven Floyd was killed.  From the first trial, just one of the 4 defendants was found guilty in the murder of Lt Floyd.
