Troopers Arrest Man and Woman on Gun Charges Following Traffic Stop


Delaware State Police have arrested a man and a woman –31-year-old Derrick Edwards of Millsboro and 28-year-old Faythe Wise of Seaford– on felony gun charges following a traffic stop that occurred last night in Bridgeville. On August 12th at approximately 9:30 p.m., a trooper on patrol saw a black Dodge Charger fail to properly stop at the stop sign at Coverdale Road and Hastings Farm Road. During the traffic stop, the trooper found that there were two concealed and loaded handguns on the back seat floorboard. Both were detained without incident.

  • Criminal Contempt of a Domestic Violence Protection Order

Edwards, who is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm and/or ammunition, was found to be in violation of an active protection from abuse (PFA) order. He was arrested and taken to Troop 5, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on $16,500 unsecured bond.

Faythe Wise

  • Carrying a Concealed Firearm (Felony)
  • Conspiracy Second Degree (Felony)
  • Traffic offenses

Wise was arrested and taken to Troop 5, where she was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and released on her own recognizance.
