Vice President JD Vance arrived at Dover Air Force Base Monday night around 7 to attend the dignified transfer of 26 year old Sgt. Benjamin Pennington of Glendale, Kentucky. Pennington is a US Army Space and Missile Defense Command Soldier with the 1st Space Battalion, 1st Space Brigade out of Fort Carson, Colorado. Sgt. Pennington died Sunday from injuries he sustained a week earlier during Iran鈥檚 retaliatory attack at the Prince Sultan Air Base, where he was stationed in Saudi Arabia.聽 He is the 7th service member killed in the Iran war.聽聽
The VP was joined by Secretary Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine and Under Secretary of the Army Michael Obadal.聽
