UPDATED: Virginia Man Dies after Three Vehicle Crash Near Lincoln Friday Afternoon
UPDATED – 10/20/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 68 year old Michael Smith of Portsmouth, Virginia, as the man who died in the fatal crash in Lincoln on Friday.

ORIGINAL STORY – 10/18/25 – Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that occurred around 2pm on Friday on Route 113 in the area of Fitzgerald Road near Lincoln. Police tell the Talk of Delmarva that this was a deadly crash involving three vehicles ā one a tanker truck.
Police say a Hyundai northbound on Route 113 was slowing for a yellow or red signal and was rear-ended by a Honda, driven by a 27 year old Milford man, traveling northbound behind them. The collision pushed the Hyundai into the intersection where it collided with the westbound tanker-truck, driven by a 58-year-old man from Dover, coming off Johnson Road. The driver of the Hyundai, a 68 year old Virginia man was pronounced dead at an area hospital. Neither of the other drivers was injured.
