Volunteers Invited For Mountaire Farms’ Thanksgiving For Thousands

Thanksgiving for Thousands is still more than two weeks away, but Mountaire Farms said Wednesday that preparations are well underway.

Volunteer opportunities are still available for the packing event Monday November 22nd at Mountaire’s warehouse on Railroad Avenue in Selbyville. More than 150 volunteers are expected that day to pack 10,000 boxes for a family of four. Each box will contain a Mountaire roaster chicken, corn, green beans, stuffing, gravy, cranberries and brownies.

Drive-through distribution events will be held at several locations Tuesday, November 23rd between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. for people who are interested in obtaining a Thanksgiving dinner box for a family in need:

 Bridgeville – Gateway Fellowship, 8110 Cannon Road
 Georgetown – Discover Church, 20330 Sand Hill Road
 Laurel – Laurel Wesleyan, 30186 Seaford Road
 Milford – United Church, 985 N. Dupont Blvd.
 Seaford – St. John’s United Methodist Church, 300 N. Pine Street

“Everyone at Mountaire looks forward to this event every year and the partnerships we’ve built in the community over the last 26 years,” Mountaire Farms President Phillip Plylar said. “To see everyone come together to help out families in need is really such a blessing. We’re grateful to be able to give back during this event and throughout the year.”
