Volunteers Needed to Count Bats in Delaware!

Training for ‘bat spotting’ will be held on Thursday, May 3^rd at the DNREC Aquatic Resources Education Center in Smyrna.  Volunteers are needed to help locate bat roosts and count bats in the First State as they leave their day-time resting areas.  The training is for both new and experienced volunteers.  They may look creepy, but bats are important to the ecology – feeding on millions of insects – including mosquitoes, beetles, moths and agricultural pests.  If you’re interested in volunteering – contact DNREC to reserve your spot.
