Wanted Felton man arrested on drug charges in Milford

A wanted Felton man was arrested on drug charges during a warrant operation where police seized crack cocaine and weapons in Milford.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, shortly after 11 a.m., Monday members of the Kent County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) responded to a residence on Argos Choice Road in Milford to conduct a warrant attempt for 38-year-old Paul Lovett, who had four active capiases out of the Kent County Court of Common Pleas.

Police arrived and made with the homeowner who said Lovett had been staying at the residence and was currently there at the time. He was located inside the home and taken into custody without incident.

Drug paraphernalia was observed in Lovett’s bedroom and inside a vehicle.

A 9-year-old child was also in the residence at this time.

A search warrant for the residence was obtained by the Kent County Drug Unit (KDU). As a result of the search warrant, police seized 5.83 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a Cobra handgun, and (4) .380 rounds.

Lovett was charged with Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, Possession of a firearm by a person prohibited who also possesses a controlled substance, Possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Lovett was arraigned and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $28,750 secured bond.
