WGMD Fishing Report 04-02-22

It was still a tad breezy on Saturday, but fish were caught. Sunday will see southwest winds of 10 to 15 knots with gusts to 20 going west in the afternoon with 3-foot seas and showers. Monday the wind will be northwest at 10 to 15 knots with gusts to 20 falling off to 5-knots in the afternoon. Seas will start out at 3 to 4 feet than drop down to 2 feet or less.

Amanda checked in two citation crappie on Saturday, both caught at Diamond Pond. Mason Newsham had one weighing 1.55 pounds while Jackson Ostroski caught a 1.73-pound citation.

Saturday was opening day of Delaware’s trout season for youth anglers. Ed O’Donnell took his two grandsons to the fly-fishing only pool on White Clay Creek. The boys caught 11 trout on green weenes and pink eggs.

Old Inlet said small rockfish are caught on soft plastics in the pre-dawn hours out of Indian River Inlet.
