WGMD Fishing Report 10-11-19

Hermann-Financial

Gale warnings remain in effect through Friday for the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay.  The wind will subside a bit on Saturday, but not much.  Seas will drop from 11 to seven feet so I don’t think many folks will venture out on open water.  It looks like Monday before we get decent fishing conditions.

The Delaware Mobile Surf Fishermen will hold their annual surf tournament this weekend and it looks like the anglers will have to battle some rough conditions.  I am sure the weather will cut down on the number of entries and that’s a shame because many people look forward to this event all year.  DMS will meet with the Division of Parks and Recreation on Friday morning to discuss the beach conditions and if the tournament should be postponed.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said a few tog have been caught on sand fleas and green crab from Indian River Inlet.

Over in the Chesapeake, rockfish have been caught on surface lures early in the morning before sunrise along rocky shorelines.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
