WGMD Fishing Report 11-2-19

Summer ended on Friday.  The temperature dropped 40 degrees and the wind howled out of the northwest raising small craft advisories on the bay and ocean.  To the best of my knowledge, no boats sailed from any Delaware port.

The weekend and early week weather look pretty good.  Some northwest wind on Sunday with light winds for Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

Maryland has recorded a new state record triggerfish.  Mike Glyphis was bottom fishing 16 miles out of Ocean City when he hooked up the 5.6-pound trigger on October 30.

Tog fishing has been less than spectacular.  Most experienced toggers blame the warm water temperature for the lack of interest from keeper-sized blackfish.  Not being what anyone would call an experienced togger, I can’t comment on that, but I have caught keeper tog in July when the water temperature was considerably than it is now.  However, if the problem is warm water, the recent change in the weather should solve that situation.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
