Wednesday was cold and windy with falling temperatures and a little snow.  Let’s hope the rockfish will still be here when the weather settles down.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina has checked in some impressive rockfish.  The first of the season was a 30-incher caught on a red and white Stretch 25 by Dave Houck.  The largest was a 41-pounder caught and released by Charlie Clendaniel on Magic Tail MOJO purchased from Lewes Harbour Marina.  The Bottom Line brought in four rockfish weighing 14, 22, 20 and 16 pounds.  Todd Meredith had twin 13.3 pounders and Bill Vermon had 16 and 19 pounders.  Bill Vermon now holds down all three spots in the Lewes Harbour Striped Bass Tournament with a 19.7, 16.7 and a 12.8 pound rockfish.

Captain Aaron Herd out of Indian River Marina went six for eight on rockfish putting three in the box, with two under 28 inches and one over 35 inches.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
