WGMD Fishing Report 12-20-18

What a difference a day makes.  Wednesday saw a slow tog bite with most boats reporting only a handful of fish.  The Grizzly did have some big fish, with five between 11.5 and 8.5 pounds, but Thursday was much better as Captain Cary Evans came in with a boat limit to 17.5 pounds and six more tog over 12 pounds.

The Fish Bound out of Ocean City had a boat limit of tog on Wednesday including a 17-pound, 4-ouncer caught with a jig on 15-pound line that may qualify for the IGFA 15-pound world tackle record.  There are a lot of hoops to jump through before the IGFA issues a world record and we wish the angler good luck.

The Gale Force out of Indian River Marina fished for tog on Wednesday and found the bite on the slow side with only one keeper in the box.  On the way back home Captain Aaron marked some fish near the mouth of the inlet, dropped over a MOJO and hooked up a 30-inch rockfish.  That is the only rockfish I know of caught in Delaware in over two weeks.
