WGMD Fishing Report 12-3-19

Monday was cold and windy and I darn near froze to death at the Millsboro Boat Ramp as I attended the official opening ceremony.

DNREC Secretary Garvin hosted the event with several other speakers including Senator Tom Carper.

Millsboro Pond has been maintained by DNREC Fish and Wildlife Section since the 1980s.  The town owns the pond and the cooperation between the town and the state has provided anglers with excellent recreational opportunities that will only be enhanced with the new boat ramp.

The new ramp cost $625,000 with 75% coming from the Federal excise tax on fishing equipment and 25% coming from Delaware’s General Fishing License funds.  In other words, we fishermen paid for everything.

The ramp is handicap accessible with a courtesy dock and increased parking spaces.

Fishing reports have been few and far between.  I did hear from the Angler out of Ocean City.  They had a good trip on Saturday catching black sea bass, flounder to 6.5 pounds and porgies.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
