WGMD Fishing Report 3-10-18

Friday was another sunny day, but the 40 degree temperatures and 20-knot winds made for some very cold fishing conditions.

I did run over to Milton to see if anyone was fishing at the head of the Broadkill River.  When I arrived around 2:30 three guys were drowning worms from the town dock.  One fellow caught a very small sunfish from the blow down vegetation along the north bank, but I never saw any movement from the other bobbers.

Another angler showed up and he had minnows for bait.  He set up next to the building where they keep the train and on his first cast he caught a small bass. I stuck around for another 10 minutes, but never saw another fish caught.  All of my observations were made from inside my truck with the heater running.

Saturday could be a better day with warmer temperatures and less wind.  I may go back to Milton and if it’s not too cold I might even drown a minnow or two.

Some brave soul might even give the tog a try on Saturday.

This is Eric Burnley with you WGMD fishing report.
