WGMD Fishing Report 3-16-18
Thursday was another cold and windy day and I don’t think many if any fish were caught. The weekend should be a little bit better and fishing should be possible in the upper reaches of the tidal rivers and creeks as well as the ponds. This includes the two trout ponds; Tidbury in Dover and Newton near Greenwood.
On Wednesday I received some sad news. My friend Lefty Kreh passed away at 93 years of age. I knew his health was failing so his death was not a surprise, but nevertheless I still felt a hole in my heart.
There are a lot of folks, like myself, that make a living writing and talking about fishing. Lefty Kreh did that job better than all the rest of us. When he spoke, the best thing to do was listen.
I first met Lefty in the 1980s and after finding out I never fished with a fly rod he was kind enough to invite me to his home and take out to a small pond and show me how to cast. I never forgot his kindness and I still have the rod and reel he gave me.
