WGMD Fishing Report 4-19-19

Thursday was warm and windy with small craft advisories up and it looks like they are going to be up until Monday.  Not looking good for Easter Weekend.

As promised, I went up on Broadkill Beach and shut down the black drum bite.  I arrived as the tide was coming in, fished through the high until half way through the low.  I had two dozen beautiful chowder clams from Lewes Harbour Marina and I rebaited both rods every 10 to 15 minutes.  The crabs should be fat and happy.  There were several other anglers there when I arrived and a few came before I left.  If any of them caught a drum I did not see it.  The fellow next to me did catch two skates.  By the time I called it quits only one or two fishermen were left and the tide was ebbing pretty fast.  The wind had really picked up out of the southwest and that didn’t help.

I called Lewes Harbour Marina, Lewes Ice House and Old Inlet Bait and Tackle.  The only shop that had heard of any fish caught was Old Inlet and they said short rock were caught on bloodworms from Three Rs on south.
