WGMD Fishing Report 4-23-19

Sunday had some interesting weather along the coast.  The skies were overcast due to a low pressure area off the cost that also had seas in the ocean running three to five feet bringing out small craft advisories.  Most of the day saw light winds on land with cooler temperatures until late afternoon.

Amanda at Lewes Harbour Marina told us that Logan Comley along with his Dad got into the bluefish at the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park on Sunday.  They had one blue that measured 25.5 inches and another that went 18.5 inches.  Both were caught on mullet.  She also checked in a 17.5-inch flounder caught by Steve Warren.  Steve was fishing from the town dock in Lewes using Gulp! when the keeper hit.

Scott Aiken caught a 10-pound black drum from Broadkill Beach.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle said the tog caught out of the Inlet on green crabs and shrimp are, for the most part, too small to keep.  A few do make the 16-inch minimum size.  Big blues are in the back bays.
