Sunday saw sun, but the high winds had small craft advisories flying.

In spite of the wind, Captain John Nedelka on the Karen Sue decided to work some of his secret locations closer to the beach and this payed off with a boat limit of tog. John said they had fish coming up on almost every drop, but it took a while to cull out the keepers.

George at Eastern Marine said Brad Hopkins caught a 40-inch rockfish on cut bunker at the 5L Buoy.  Steve at Smith Bait the best action on rockfish right now is in 10 to 12 feet of water on the Delaware side of the Power Plant when the water temperature is above 56 degrees.  Chunking with fresh bunker is the best technique.

Dan’s Tackle said two of his customers had their limit of tog at the Outer Wall.  He also saw a 4.5-pound trout caught on a bucktail from the Broadkill River.  Rick’s Bait and Tackle said a 17.5 and an 18-inch flounder were caught out of the VFW Slough on Saturday with live minnows the prime bait.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
