WGMD Fishing Report 4-4-18

Tuesday was another cold and damp day along the beach, although the sun did come out late in the afternoon.  The rest of the week looks equally nasty with winds and seas that will stop any fishing on the ocean or bay.

Delaware trout season in New Castle County’s stocked streams will open at 7:30 AM on Saturday, April 7.  I have been using the stocking schedule as printed in the Delaware Fishing Guide and yesterday I discovered that schedule is not correct.  Wilson Run at Brandywine Creek State Park will be stocked by opening day.  This is the best location to fish especially if you are taking young folks.  There is plenty of parking and it is easy to access the water.  The opening day crowd won’t be as bad as at White Clay Creek, but still expect quite a few folks along the bank.  I try to arrive by 6:30 or 7:00 AM and usually find an open spot by the bridge.  I won’t be there this year because of the other two events on April 7, but plan to make the trip sometime before the end of the month.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
