WGMD Fishing Report 5-6-19

Sunday was wet and windy with very few if anyone fishing.  Fortunately, I still have reports from Saturday that I didn’t have room for in yesterday’s report.

Dan’s Tackle Box told us young Jace Griffith caught a blue and a rockfish from Broadkill Beach on Saturday.  Ron Keefer had a black drum from a boat in Delaware Bay.  DMS Junior Member Liz Christy caught and released two short rockfish at Fenwick Island outfishing the adults with her.

The Fish Bound out of Ocean City had a tough day on Saturday until they made their last drop.  There they hit tog to 11 pounds to make the day worthwhile.

The Porgy IV out of Cape May caught black drum on her first Delaware Bay trip on Saturday night.

Steve at Smith Bait told me that Kevin Smith caught a 65-pound black drum from Broadkill Beach on a female crab.  Mark Dudey had a black drum that tipped the scales at 73 pounds, eight ounces and Sam McKizbbin had a 71-pounder on the same bait at the Coral Beds.
