WGMD Fishing Report 6-1-18

Thursday saw some warmer weather and a little better fishing.

From Lewes Harbour Marina we heard from Julie that she and Chris Vann fished Bethany Beach on Wednesday and had a mixed bag.  Chris caught and released a 38-inch rockfish on bunker.  They had a good number of kings on FishBites and bloodworms.  Mixed in with the kings were spot and blowfish.  They were on the beach for eight hours.  Julie also reported that Adam Asuado and his brother Charles caught two 21-inch flounder from the fishing pier on Cape Henlopen State Park.

Old Inlet Bait and Tackle told us one customer fished Three Rs Road with FishBites and bloodworms and came away with a good catch of kings.  Let’s hope these kings are here for a while and we can get back on them after the unsettled weather forecast for the weekend.

The bad weather has resulted in the postponement of the Andy and Opie Kids Fishing Tournament scheduled for Saturday June 2.  It will now take place next Saturday June 9 from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM.  See you there.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
