Monday was the hottest day of the year and while the fish didn’t mind, some of the fishermen did.

When we called Lighthouse View Tackle on the fishing pier at Cape Henlopen State Park the report was only four people were on the pier.

At Lewes Harbour Marina, Amanda said the Katydid came in with a boat limit of flounder.  On Sunday, the Bill Slayer had seven yellowfin tuna and 15 dolphin.  Captain Ed Sigda, Mike Sigda, Dave Voorhees and Mike Fritz used 10-ounce Diamond jigs to catch six 40 to 50-pound yellowfin tuna at the Hot Dog.  The Port-A-Bella chunked at the 19-Fathom Lump for four yellowfin tuna.

The Marli out of Ocean City had 18 yellowfin tuna by 8:30 AM on Monday.

Dan’s Tackle reported that Fred Johnson caught a 30.29-pound blue catfish out of the Nanticoke River.

We had a report that an early morning trip on Indian River Bay produced three keeper flounder and 15 shorts for three anglers.

This is Eric Burnley with your WGMD fishing report.
